This afternoon another one of the above clutch hatched.
MARCH 6
My normal cock (split silver) and silver hen ,the two chicks that hatched two days after the first two eggs were not getting fed as they are weaker,i don`t think they would have lasted the night,so i put them under my Bengalese who are sitting on eggs hoping they would take them. Two days later the chicks are doing fine the Bengalese are doing the fostering well.
I am always going to have 2 pairs of Bengalese paired up during the java breeding season as they are brilliant foster parents,if run into trouble.
My first three chick that were born this year are all rung starting from 51/anodized rings.
MY last chicks of 2006 two creams and a pastel out of a cream cock and opal Isabel hen,the creams have turned out to be the best creams of my stock.
